8 hour bus rides are tough on most people. Coach MO used to stop off somewhere in IA and hold a practice session. Not a bad idea.

Looks like the Colonial Athletic Association will get a lot of spots in the playoffs as they have 5 teams with a 7-3 record: Maine, Delaware, James Madison, Stony Brook, and Towson.

God, I really hope we get lucky and sneak in. I’d love to play one of their 7-3 teams and show a 6-5 team in the MVFC is still best.

Former Western football coach Bob Nielson did this one year when the team was busing to one of the Dakota schools for a game. The team stopped off at Wartburg College (Waverly, Iowa) for a practice session. Nielson was the football coach at Wartburg 1991-1995.

Maybe next time we head up there, the team should take the diagonal route from Burlington to Des Moines and see about stopping off in Pella for a short stretch and workout..maybe just a couple of laps around the track. I believe we're somewhat familiar with the golf coach at the local college there.

In Bob's three years here, he was 1-3 in games in the Dakotas.

Very poor game yesterday. Sean missed a wide open Wahee on the first drive and we settled for a long FG. Missed a wide open Lesure over the middle that would have been a TD or guess another drop for Lesure!!!!! Then 2 plays later buried a ball to Norris in the flat that was wide open and should have gotten a first down, but instead we missed a FG. Forcing the ball to McShane on the redzone pick was awful, but so was the a lot of the play calling. Defense wasn't bad, but just didn't make some stops they should have and missed way to many tackles.

The way they played lessened the pain as I was thinking this team has no right making the playoffs..........then everyone else around us looking to get in shit the bed as well.

Locks to make the 24:
1 NDSU
2 Kennesaw State
3 Weber State
4 UC Davis
5 EWU
6 SDSU
7 Jacksonville State
8 James Madison
9 Colgate
10 Delaware
11 Stony Brook
12 Wofford
13 Maine
14 Nicholls
15 ETSU
16 Towson
17 Montana or Montana State

7 likely openings up for grabs.

Southeast Missouri should get in with an 8th win vs Eastern Illinois. A loss and 7 might not be enough vs a good 6 win team. Their only good win was a really good one against Jacksonville State, but next best is against 5-5 non scholarship Dayton.

Because Florida A&M lost 2 straight, NC A&T wins and will play in the bowl game and not take a spot.

North Dakota wins at Northern Arizona and they should get in with 7 D1 wins. (go NA)

EKU wins at a bad Tennessee Tech and they'll be at 7 D1 wins. (go TT somehow)

Alcorn State wins they'll get to 7 D1 wins, but lock up the Bowl game and not take a spot. (Go Alcorn)

IWU who would be a potential 6 win team, scheduled a game against Iowa State for Dec 1, so they're out.

Indiana State wins and they'll have a good chance of getting in with 6 D1 wins. (GO WIU)

Monmouth might get in with a win at Gardner-Webb giving them 8 wins, but a weak schedule outside their losses to EMU, Princeton and Kennesaw might not be enough with 7 wins. (Go G-Webb)

Highly ranked all year Elon is 6-4 and play at 7-3 conference leader Maine, so could be fighting to get in at 6-5, but a win locks them in. (Go Elon to keep them out of the 6 win talks)

McNeese State who is 6-4 plays vs 6-4 Lamar, so a loss would put them in the 6-5 talk, but 3 straight losses wouldn't bode well. (Go McNeese)

Lamar wins the above and they'll get their 6th D1 win and all coming in a row. We should probably pull for McNeese in this one to keep them out of the 6 win talk against us. (Go McNeese)

I have Montana/MSU in the above as the winner at 7-4 likely gets in. Lets pull for MSU, to simply keep them from being in 6-5 talk with a win against us. Montana win is good, since we beat them, so who knows. (GO MSU)

Idaho State needs to win to get to 6 D1 wins and take on Weber State. (Go Weber)

UNI winning over MSU would give them 6 D1 wins, but if we win, we'd have the advantage. (Go UNI to make our win against them help)

ISUr can only get to 5 D1, so they're out.

Central Arkansas has dropped 3 straight and needs to beat 6-4 Abilene Christian to get to 6. (Go AC)

Above mentioned AC winning would get them to 6 D1 wins. (Go AC, as our SOS should top them)

Samford's loss this week doesn't allow them to get to 6 D1 wins.

If Chattanooga can upset South Carolina, they'd be in with 7 wins, but a loss and they'd be a 6-5 bubble team.

Winner of Mercer and Furman would get to 6 D1 wins and in the talk. (Toss up here as we'd hope our SOS gets us in over them)

Sam Houston win at a bad Houston Baptist would give them 6 D1 wins. (cross our fingers and go HB, but a win and hope our SOS helps us)

Rhode Island win vs New Hampshire gets them to 6 D1 wins. (Go NH, but same with SOS if they win)

Murray State wins at Austin Peay and they would be at 6 D1 wins. (Go AP, but same with SOS if they win)

Depending on how some of these games go, we're possibly looking at 2 teams with 6 D1 wins getting in. Better play lights out next week and make a statement and then hope a few other games end in our favor.

Just looked at the forecast for Saturday going to be cold so I would assume that anything more than 600 would be a surprise

A Western win would give both Indiana State and Western a 6-5 record. Northern Iowa could also finish 6-5 if they can beat Missouri State.
D-II wins don't count champ.

The Promotional Calendar is only showing "Senior Day" for Saturday. Looks like there is no promotional activity nor special pricing for this game. The students will be gone. So it will be up to the adults to show up and generate the noise.

Suppose to be a large group of counter-demonstrators coming to town on Saturday to drown out the Westboro Baptist Church group.

Incarnate Word and Iowa State both have a caveat on that game. If UIW makes the FCS playoffs, the game is cancelled. If Iowa State makes the Big 12 conference championship game (still a shot, need WVU to lose to OU and they would get in it) and the game is cancelled. Just a heads up!
