Acklin led Hamilton in receiving yards with 5 catches for 88 yards, but McGuire ends up with the ring after Winnipeg defeats Hamilton, 33-12.

I know that it's unlikely, and there's a lot of things that would have to happen first, but I think it'd be really cool to see one of them eventually traded/signed by the other's team and we'd end up seeing a few more McGuire to Acklin TD passes again. It happened before with Russ Michna and Reggie Gray in the Arena League. A guy can hope, right?

The first game of the 2021 CFL season was a rematch of the last Grey Cup played (2019 Season) between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. As most of you are aware, we have Leatherneck alumni playing on both teams, with Sean McGuire as the #2 QB for Winnipeg and Jaelon Acklin one of the top WRs for Hamilton. The Blue Bombers won 19-6, although McGuire didn't get a chance to play in tonight's game. Acklin, however, was looking like many of us remember, catching 6 receptions for 93 yards (the most by any receiver in the game) and an incredible 37-yard TD catch...the only TD for the Tiger-Cats of the evening.
