This is a huge get. Kid may never see the field or he may start. But to have a 3rd arm here for Spring ball was Definitely a need

Yup, good to have depth either way. Here's his page on Merrimack's page: https://merrimackathletics.com/sports/f ... arter/7975
So he must either be sitting out a year, or he's finished his bachelors in rapid time and is doing a grad transfer, I guess?

He is a '17 HS grad and prepped at Jireh Prep before Merrimack. I doubt credits from Jireh would transfer so I am betting on sitting out a year.
It would be interesting to know if Merrimack brought in a blue chip QB this year.

And that does look to be the case.

Is Merrimack FCS? Also, besides CC and Sampson who’s our third QB as of now?

Yes, this last season was the first year for both Merrimack and Long Island University in the FCS. They are both in the NEC.

We also have Henry Ogala (https://goleathernecks.com/sports/footb ... gala/17599) who transferred from DII Lincoln. Because of transferring up (and not grad transfer) he had to sit out last season, but he'll be available this year with 3 years of eligibility.
And freshman Clay Bruno from Rochester will likely redshirt this next year and compete in 2021, when it looks like it'll be Ogala, CC, and Bruno competing for the starting QB position (at least at this point...a lot can change between now and then though).

A bit more on the QB front. I was sent the link to this guy's twitter account:
Jake Smith, QB from Canton, IL: https://twitter.com/Jake33Smith
His bio says he's a WIU Football commit although I didn't see any specific tweets about it (which is why I missed it, I think).
He's 6'3", 210lb, and here's his hudl page with more info and video: https://www.hudl.com/profile/8107747/Jake-Smith

I don't know if he's been offered a scholarship or just a PWO, but my guess based on who else we have is that he'll redshirt this year along with Clay Bruno, and then we'll see how things go next year.

Raw QB potential IMO. Needs some foot work help. Lots of his throws were on the run and pretty accurate at that. Would make a nice wildcatter.
Maybe he fits better at linebacker.? I would call him a true "bruiser" at the postion if he has any speed at all.

Seal, maybe he will convert to LB and be the next great Conference LB from Canton. I'll even take half as good as Boomer Grigsby!!!!!!
