Is it worth it to practice and get all ready for just one game?

Here's what the rest of the conference is doing currently...

I just have a lot concerns about playing in the fall then turning around and playing in the spring for example how are kids supposed to let there bodies get rest and recover from injuries. Also feel like your asking for much worse injuries.

I would be shocked if we have anything more than a Spring Game type scrimmage in the Fall. And hoping we can have that. The kids need to get back the developmental time they lost last Spring

I completely agree, I was just posting the info as I see it come across the "wire".

The NCAA needs to step up and do what's best for the athletes and students. They need to just come out and say "no football in the fall...period". I'm not a medical expert, but it may be best to just not have any football games at all during the 2020/21 school year.
If having games in the late spring and then also having a regular fall season in 2021 is too much too close together for the health and safety of the athletes, then just cancel it all until fall 2021. Consider this season an extra "redshirt" year for everyone. Allow teams to practice, train, conduct scrimmages, and maybe something like a "simulated game" or two. Having some teams play a few games this fall, then some this spring, then a full schedule next fall, while others only play in the spring, and some don't play at all, is just a recipe for disaster (injuries, confusion, probably lawsuits, etc.). Kids are going to be frantically transferring from schools that aren't playing to other schools that might be playing games, but in the process making hasty and possibly ill-informed decisions that could seriously impact their future.

Cancelling football for (at least) the fall will allow more time for students to make better decisions about where they want to spend the next few years of their lives. Setting a solid and known schedule for the spring or fall 2021 will allow everyone involved to take a breath, evaluate their situations, and make some rational decisions about what they need to do over the next 6 months or so.

Like I said, I'm not a medical expert, so I don't know if this is smart in terms of the health of the athletes, but if they decide that spring football is do-able, I'd like to see something like this:
March 13th to May 1st (8 weeks) is the "regular season"...only conference games.
May 8th, 15th, and 22nd are the "playoffs"...both FBS and FCS do a 16-team playoff...conference champions plus the remainder as "at-large" teams.
May 29th is off for the teams playing in the championship game, but that weekend they do the Celebration Bowl (MEAC champ vs SWAC champ), maybe Army vs Navy on Memorial Day...stuff like that.
Saturday June 5th is the FCS championship game at 1 PM, then the FBS championship game in prime time.

Alternately, I suppose if the FBS would prefer, they could play bowl games during the playoff timeframe. I think most schools are done with spring classes by mid-May, so you'll likely have the last couple of weeks of May through to June 5th (that's ~3 weeks) to fill in with bowl games and their shorter "playoff" system.

Here’s a great Spring plan written up by the Purdue Coaching staff.

North Alabama will attempt to play a 4-game football schedule this fall, despite the fact that the Big South Conference on Wednesday postponed its conference season to the spring.

North Alabama has games at Western Illinois Sept. 3, at Chattanooga Sept. 19, and at BYU Nov. 21, in addition to a home game with Jacksonville State Sept. 12.

Staying in Burlington, IA this weekend for the PZAZZ, casino, water park, etc. First time here in over 40 years. I am pretty damn sure that if this facility was within a 20 minute drive of Macomb, our home football attendance would double. I think a few visiting teams rest their bones here before making the trip to Macomb on gameday. It is very nice.

Someone needs to look into chartering a bus or two for fans to make the trip from here to Macomb on gameday. Maybe not this year but in the hopefully not too distant future.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Burlington Trailways is a Corporate Sponsor and the transportation-provider for the Western teams. Perhaps they would be interested.

Sounds like our game with North Alabama is now off/cancelled/postponed, or as FCS journalist Brian McLaughlin puts it...

Meanwhile, North Alabama is moving forward with a 4-game fall schedule beginning on October 3.

North Alabama has contracts to play long-time rival Jacksonville State at home on October 17, at Southern Mississippi on November 7, and at BYU on November 21.

North Alabama also has a contract to travel to a 3rd FBS opponent on October 3, but is not ready to announce that opponent yet.

So I know UNA doesn’t have us on their schedule anymore this fall, and we lost Ok State and EWU. So is WIU having fall games or have the officials said spring ball only? I guess, I’m more confused on what’s going on.
