I understand that most MVFC teams have had at least one FBS game, but just looking at some of the other games they have played, have most teams (besides WIU) had at least one fairly easily won game? Looks like a lot of them have played at least one "gimme" game......or am I just hoping for that to make the 'Necks losses more palatable?

That is, unfortunately, an issue with our lack of money. Most schools will get somewhere in the neighborhood of $300k-$500k to go play at a FBS school (and it's expected they'll generally lose), and then they turn around and use a chunk of that to bring in a team that should be a fairly easy win for them, without expectation of a H&H agreement (in which usually there is no money exchanged)
Illinois State - Western Michigan, hosted Butler
Indiana State - Northwestern, but they didn't really have a truly "easy" win, hosting EIU (which they did win)
Missouri State - Oklahoma State, but didn't have an "easy win" game, hosting Central Arkansas (and winning)
North Dakota - Utah State, hosted Drake
North Dakota State - no FBS game (many won't schedule the Bison anymore), but hosted Valparaiso (and Albany, but Valpo was the easiest win for them)
Northern Iowa - Iowa State, hosted St. Thomas
South Dakota - Kansas, but no "easy" game, hosted Northern Arizona (which they beat)
South Dakota State - Colorado State, hosted Lindenwood (DII)
Southern Illinois - Kansas State, hosted Dayton
Youngstown State - Michigan State, but hosted Incarnate Word and almost lost to them (paid them $135k for it too)

So, pretty much the only games we can schedule are FBS $$$ games, or H&H matchups with teams, because we can't spare the money to bring in a Pioneer League or DII team for a 1-off game.

I get that, and wasn't really questioning the reason we didn't have an "easy" win team; just saying that we may have played a tougher schedule so far. Funding in all aspects is obviously a big problem. I guess I'm just trying to create a happier way to look at being 0-3.

Oh, we absolutely have one of the toughest FCS schedules this year. According to Massey Ratings, if you look at all the teams we play this year, we have the #2 toughest schedule.
#1 is Youngstown State. They played Michigan State and Incarnate Word OOC (vs our Ball State, Montana, and Eastern Washington), but then they miss South Dakota and Illinois State, while we are missing North Dakota State and Missouri State. So, I think our OOC was tougher (although probably more likely to have gone undefeated in OOC, since they were playing a Big 10 team), but have an easier conference slate than they do.
