I see Will McElvain, former QB at UNI, announced on his twitter he was offered by WIU. Also I noticed a guy who his bio said he is a graduate assistant at Buffalo retweeted his tweet. So I wonder if he is in line to become an assistant coach at WIU. Also several assistant coaches from this past season liked the tweet.
The guy who retweeted this played at UNI and at Kansas Wesleyan.

FYI, McElvain shows he committed to Central Arkansas, but looks like schools besides WIU, are still offering him.
Yeah, I don’t think he signed in the early signing period so he could technically flip.

It looks like Central Arkansas thinks he's signed: https://ucasports.com/news/2021/12/15/f ... ogram.aspx
I don't know if that means there isn't a way for him to change his mind at this point, but it looks pretty likely he'll be playing for UCA next year.
He started the first few games this last season for UNI, but lost the starting gig to Theo Day fairly early in the season. Even if he did come to WIU, I don't know that he'd be the starter right away...might put him up against who we have and see who wins out in the spring practices. Then again, maybe a change of scenery is what he needs to improve.

FYI…he’s only committed to UCA at this time. We wouldn’t offer him if he’s already signed. The kid is from Des Moines and I know for fact he wants to play in the MVFC so he can beat UNI. He would be the perfect fit of pass and run threat in Coach Hendrickson’s offensive scheme.
Stay tuned!

Marco played with my son in high school. The young man is unbelievable. He set the all-time passing record at Westlake High (California). 7 touchdowns and almost 500 yards in a game. If we can get him, it would be quite a score!

Somewhat of a unique situation to kick off recruiting for next year. I'm going to go ahead and categorize this kid as a 2022 recruit because, while he could play for us this year, it's highly unlikely that would happen at this point, I think.
Anyway, Drake Day is a 6'3" 186lb QB who spent a season with Iowa Western CC before going to Memphis for 2020. Memphis had 4 other QBs ahead of him, so he didn't play in 2020 and it looked like it would be a while until he'd get any chance at seeing the field. He's originally from West Burlington, Iowa, but was actually born in Macomb, and was wanting to come back to somewhere where he could possibly get on the field sooner and where it would be a much closer drive for his family and friends to attend his games. He is already enrolled here for the fall semester and is in talks with the coaching staff to join the team.
