Probably more that the people that organized it have retired/left/were let go and the positions have not been replaced. With all the other things going on during Homecoming weekend, they probably decided it wasn't a priority and not worth the trouble.
I looked at past articles, and it said it was the alumni that put it on, so the "let go" shouldn't play into it.
The Alumni House/Alumni Relations put it on. Here is the current list of their employees:

My mistake. I thought it was the Alumni Association, which appears to be volunteer.

Now that was a nice win, was expecting a close game, nice to see a breather for once.

Not surprised we won but didn't expect to dogwalk them like that not sure the last time we had a performance like that against a team of similar comparison to us.

First homecoming win since 2016. Domination by the Necks. Davis has program going in right direction.

That was a great win, I watched on ESPN+. We sit at 4-4 now. It's possible we end with a winning season. We haven't done that in my calculations since 2017. Let's go! Looks like we are heading in the right direction. Kudos to coach Davis.

They talked to Coach Boudreau at halftime and he went out of his way to mention Coach Davis and say how lucky we are to have him as the football coach at WIU. He also mentioned that he has liked what he has seen from his team in the secret scrimmages they have held.

I always take what coaches say about there team in the preseason with a grain of salt because I've never heard a coach say yeah were not going to be very good this year. I hope we can get back to like we were 3 seasons ago
