It will be interesting to hear why the Montana games are no longer on the schedule.
One guy at the Gym today was offering up the theory that Montana may be backing-away from those games because they feel that Western will either be closed or no longer playing FCS football.
Sad to lose those games to Bob Nielson and USD.
"Game" actually...at least according to Montana's future schedule page, our game out there in 2021 is still on their schedule. I'm hoping that it's just a scheduling change...maybe something like the game here being rescheduled to another year or another date in the same year. Alternately, Montana might have decided to just buy out the game here, which would suck, but at least in that case we'd get some $ out of it most likely.
EDIT - ah...here we are:
http://www.gogriz.com/news/2017/4/26/fo ... h=football
Specifically:
The 2019 matchup between the Griz and Coyotes on Aug. 31 replaces the game originally scheduled with Western Illinois. That game, which opens a home-and-home series with the Leathernecks, is now set for September 15, 2018.
So, they didn't back out or drop us or anything...just a reschedule situation.
Which means that for 2018, at this point it looks like we've got the game at Illinois, home against Montana, and maybe Tennessee Tech, if our agreement with them is a H&H.

Well, that is good news to hear about the Montana games!
With the General Assembly returning for special session tomorrow, we need some good news today!

Any idea if the Leathernecks will be home on September 22, 2018?

We don't know yet if/who we'll be playing and where on that date. From what we do know (playing at Illinois and home vs Montana, and a likely home game against Tennessee Tech to open the season) and based on how the conference schedule has been set up in the past, my best guess is that September 22nd will be our bye week though. This is completely unofficial at this point. We only know the game at U of I, home against Montana, and home against NDSU for sure.

It appears that Sept 22, 2018 will be a BYE week.
Homecoming will be the following week (Sept 29).
Looks like Aug 30 (Thursday) or Sept 1 (Saturday) will be a home game vs a non-conference opponent. We are at UIUC on Sept 8. Then home vs Montana on Sept 15.

I have updated the 2018 schedule in the first post with the likely dates and the opponents (or my best guess based on history)
