I think most of us have complained (some more than others...me, for one) about the basically dismal play calling this past year. Yes, we had a winning season; yes, we made the playoff field; but if we're honest I think most of us are actually surprised that we did it after watching the games.

I'm not saying we need someone with a "flashy" idea of offense, but for pete's sake we need someone who will not zero in on Lenoir and Borsellino as the only two who can catch passes. We someone who will not rely on one running back to make the ground plays.

A school can block a player from transferring to certain schools. Example a Purdue player that wants to transfer may get his release but will not be allowed to transfer to any program that that school has on their schedule in the time span that correlates with said players eligibility.

I guess if you are a Head Coach you can do whatever you want. Seems like a double standard.

Western, should, and no doubt will sue Bob Nielson for breach of contract. Bob is on the hook for the 200k. Many people believe that as part of USD poaching process they will buy out remainder of contract.......Yes and No. USD would be a fool to just write a check to Western for $200,000+. Western will sue Nielson, and if WIU gets a judgment in their favor (which likely they would) Nielson will be responsible for damages. Nielson is not a fool, obvioulsy he will have it in his contract that USD will pay any lawsuit damages related to his hire....including remainder of unfulfilled WIU contract.

Western likley wont see this money for a couple years. Then again maybe never, the State of Illinois is so messed up who knows how the court system works.

Just fyi, Periscope is an app owned by twitter that allows live streaming of video events through the app. Not sure if available streaming online, but should be tweets from various press people. I'll try to post any important/interesting ones.

Word is they will be announcing a new head coach tomorrow.

With that assuming it will be an assistant coach getting promoted. So much for Tanney saying they will be conducting a national search to find new coach. This is what happens when the university is broke.

All I know is that I still back this team 110%. These kids have worked/are working hard, and they deserve support.

If Western had the money (which they don't) they could hire a Search Firm for what $100K.....how long does that take? WIU has neither the luxury of time or money at this juncture. Need to have stability with current players/system/recruits.

We could hire a firm be out 100k lose 5 weeks of recruiting and still have zero guarantee that the end result would be better than promoting from within.

Yup...I've been through 1 and 2-win seasons...I'm not going anywhere. Unless I'm half-dead, I'll be at every home game and probably a couple of away games.

I would love to know the final compensation package that USD floated to Bob in the 11th hour to woo him. Probably some under the table guarantee to mulitple years. or a big first year contract (think $350k) also promises of facilities upgrades (real promises, not the empty variety WIU offers).

USD is in SDSUs shadow athletics wise, but historically USD is a more prestigious university that has higher standards for admission than SDSU. They are South Dakota's Original Sate University.......lets not get carried away and say they are comparable to a University of Illinois though.
