IIRC, we have lowered our standard on this go-round. Wasn't masters required before? And I'm sure there's plenty of good coaches out there that played, got a bachelors degree, then went right into coaching at a lower assistant level and moved up the ranks without really having the opportunity (or needing) to get a Masters. If I may, I believe Leatherneck57 stated in one of his earlier posts that Van Alstine had alienated most of the football alumni, thus they pulled their support. Yea, if he'd had the connections to WIU instead of SIU, I think he could have been the best AD in a long time. He's a good guy who knows his stuff and likely would have continued to do a great job.
