Okay, so that is going to our "low water mark" for attendance. From here on out we have got to follow the "upward trail!" ;) jc

Agreed. As long as Dr. Abraham stays in charge I am optimistic for Fall 2020.

How about NIU? Any word on the Huskies! They have had some things going on but for some reason they have stayed under the radar in most cases. I know WIU's retention numbers are up along with the average grade point of this freshmen class which is 3.41 Lets see what our new admissions guy and Dr. Abraham (Martin & John) along with the faculty, staff, and community can do to increase the enrollment. ;) jc

Northern Illinois started one week after Western on August 26. So their 10-Day Enrollment numbers will be coming out next week.

Illinois State University welcomed 3,860 freshmen to campus for the 2019-2020 academic year: its largest freshman class in 33 years.

Good for ISU!!! I would be happy with an enrollment of 10,000! Just the difference between who ISU is and who WIU is. I don't think we can worry about who is infront of us. We gotta concentrate on improving our numbers period. I took a look at some of WIU's numbers back in 2011 and I was stunned by the retention or lack there of for freshmen going into their sophomore years. Boy we sure wasted time not addressing that when we could. ;) jc

Total enrollment at SIU-Edwardsville is down 1.6% over last year, to 13,061, while the freshman class is about 2% smaller at 1,667.

Freshman retention at SIUE was recorded at a record high at 79%, per a news release from the university.

Retention is trending upward at SIUC, with 75% of last year’s freshman class deciding to stay for their sophomore year. Last year, that number was 71%, and 67% the year before.

And here it is Thursday, Sept 5. Tenth day at WIU was Friday, Aug 30. Why haven't our numbers been released, and I mean officially like all the other schools who started the same date. I find this more troublesome than that the numbers actually are.

The official "reports" that run to deliver the official numbers don't actually run until Tuesday night. Really, they've only had the numbers for a day. Should be something today or tomorrow probably.
