Ty and I were texting over the holidays about him coming back.letsgonecks wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 8:05 amI see Ty hitting the weights with the boys, so looks like he might be coming back. Leader at center with a likely new Qb would be ideal.GV wrote:Thu Jan 01, 1970 4:35 amTy walked for SR day, and at this time doesn't plan to take his 5th yr. Obviously a lot can still change, but should have Ty back at center, Dimitrios who started a few games at guard, Rutledge who started at guard, Kenneth who started guard and might have played some tackle as well. Shawn Lee who backed up in 4 games along with last year transfers Reeter and Lavesa back.
Now these guys didn't necessarily dominate, but valuable game experience and a year to get better.
Hoping to get some FBS transfers to help on both lines and maybe Muetterties back in the Purple and Gold.
His words: I would like to come back. Weighing options now…
My words: I know we talked at ISU about your future opportunity. If I could give one piece of advice…work opportunities will always be there but once you hang up the cleats they’ll hang there forever. Man if I could’ve played another year I would have done it in a heartbeat. I hope you decide to come back. You’d be the piece of the puzzle that can turn this thing around! Happy New Year Neck!
I ran into Ty today 1/24 in the locker room and he’s excited to be back. His leadership will be valuable.
I met the new O line coach today. Great guy with impressive credentials. He’s official Feb 1.
In other news…I understand that Reggie Gray is interested in the WR coach opening. I spoke with him today and he was completing his application and required paperwork etc. He’s currently serving as OC in arena football. He lives in Chicago with a lot of connections with high school coaches.
