We need a new university-wide policy. All "interims" are replaced with the real thing within 120 days. The interim tags imply that someone is either dragging their feet getting things done or you don't have enough money to pay your hired help.

After further review, I think 90 days is even better.

Gee, you think 6+years for Kathy Neumann, the still Interim Provost and Academic Vice President. Thomas makes his bud Ron Williams, VPSS soon after being named Interim, but also, Kathy lingers, perhaps because she has different opinions. The President is the one who makes the VP appointments, but here Thomas has been derelict in his duties.

Expect same-o, same-o with the current BOT Chair who was big in hiring Thomas in the first place over other, more openly preferred candidates,

Higher Education Forum on September 4th in Bloomington: "Higher Education Suffering? Seeking Solutions."

What is the lasting impact of the budget impasse on higher education?

The panelists will be answering questions from the moderator and from the audience during the one-hour question and answer forum.

NPR Illinois News Director Sean Crawford moderates and the panel includes:

Dr. Erika Hunt - Senior Policy Analyst and Researcher for the Illinois State University Center for the Study of Education Policy.

Katie Anselment - Director of Constituent Relations at Eastern Illinois University.

The 10-day enrollment numbers for those state u's that started on August 20 should be out this week.

Wonder if we'll publicly release ours. They didn't for Spring 2018.
