We need to have some sort of traveling "Illinois Cup"...."Lincoln Trophy"..."Abe's Award"...that goes to the winningest DI team in the state each year. I figure that'd be a little more interesting than one that just moves if an Illinois team beats the one that currently has the trophy. If that was the case, it'd pretty much just sit with Illinois and Northwestern, with maybe occasional stints at Northern. Even though Illinois is bad this year, the would still likely beat most of the rest of the teams in the state.

Same here. I almost always root for the Illinois schools when they're playing someone outside the state, and especially NIU, since I have a lot of ties to the school...lots of friends who are NIU alumni, lots of time spent in/around Huskie Stadium, and kinda the whole "we're all in this **** together" with regards to the state funding situation.

I do hope you guys are able to get things figured out starting next week and run through the MAC with a decent record. I like "MAC-tion" football and like seeing Northern right in the middle of it.

Not that I'm aware of. Did he say something that I missed? Looks like he's been posting today on AGS, with one post as recently as ~8 minutes ago (from the time I'm writing this). I've also been emailing him as recently as yesterday. I'm going to be writing MVFC articles for the FCS Wedge website: http://thefcswedge.com/ and he helps run that site.

Oh, LOL thanks for clarification. You will be a great asset to getting the word out on the MVFC brand of football. You could have been a beat writer for one of the newspapers.

Thanks, although I need to credit WIU Broadcasting professor Roger Sadler with my "news writing" capabilities. He was one of my favorite, but also one of my toughest teachers that I had in my undergrad major and taught me a ton about writing news and sports articles.

So, obviously I enjoy watching my beloved 'Necks play.

However, we didn't play last week and move up 3 spots. Maybe, if we keep not playing we keep moving up? eventually we will move to number 1 and we are the champions.

Maybe I need to check the rule book.
