Looks like this is Coaches QB1 from his previous university. He is in the transfer portal but hasn’t listed anyone that has offered him. Would be curious if he offers his QB1 from his previous school.

Just some recruiting thoughts and connections.

Dimitri Gkountoudis came to WIU from URI and likely because of his high school connection with Ludo.  Looks like Dimitri also played with Iowa Central, former Cal OL and fellow German Jasper Friis in Germany.  I'm only seeing offers from Austin P and Marshall, so maybe we get that connection. 

Got word a bit back Muetterties hit the portal, but hoping he met with Myers and is planning to stay.  Maybe coach offered his little brother James a scholarship and that helps keep him.  Might need to replace a tackle we thought we had for another 3 years.

Back to the connections and recruiting.  We lock in Friis and we have them both reach out to fellow German and recent Penn State portal entry Joseph Appiah Darkwa.  6-5 295 DT that hasn't seen the field and could add some nice size to our interior.  Friis also plays with OL Landon Nelson and Reese Steele who were Freshman and all conference this year at Iowa Central.  I didn't include their other all conference OL Maximus McCree as he's already signed with Maryland.

If Matt transfers it would be a shock to his teammates. Not saying it won’t happen, but everything I’m hearing is he’s happy in Macomb. 

Yeah, hope he stays and just something I heard.  Thought he was one of our best OL and going to just keep getting stronger and better.  Kid could have a shot at the next level in a few years, so hope he is staying and doing it as a Leatherneck.
