We'll take a field goal, but wish we could have got 6 and the lead.
Wish he would have went to Taj on 3rd. Beat the corner off the line and safety wasn't in position to help.

I see why Willie Jones wasn't seeing playing time at Bowling Green. He has not looked good these first 2 games. Not good that he's the best option for WIU.

We will be lucky to beat Linwood next week with how our OL has played today. Another possible W we let slip away

If our first team offense went against our first team defense and we ran the ball, would the world implode? Sounds like the only option, since neither is capable of succeeding.

They were handing out the game programs as people were leaving after the game. They said that the programs arrived at Hanson Field after the game had started.
Illinois State had 276 Rushing Yards. Western had -5 Rushing Yards.
Matt Morrissey was 22 of 40 for 199 yards. No interceptions.
Attendance at Hanson Field = 3,648

That crowd was at least the size of homecoming last year and it was listed at ~7200. There's no way it was only 3600 people.

Not being able to run the ball for a first down now and then is going to cause 2 bad things to happen.
1) The opposing defense will pin their ears back getting to our QB.
2) The clock stops at all the incomplete pass attempts so our own defense will end up spending more time than they would like on the field.
At end of first half, all we needed was one first down to run out the clock and keep them from that TD.
I dont know all of our Xs and Os, but to me, our run formations thus far are as vanilla as you could come up with.
I saw a two back set only once today and one of the backs went in motion. Seems to me having the option to go to either of two RBs would at least keep the defense guessing a bit.
And when we get down close to the goal line why not an I formation. Hell, the Bison have been known to bring the Triple I in that scenario with two lead blockers for the tailback. Good luck stopping that.
