Northern Iowa at Illinois State = 5,575. Illinois State won 41-21.

Indiana State at Chattanooga = 8,419. Chattanooga won 35-14.
Sam Houston State at Jacksonville State = 10,832. Sam Houston State won 37-26.
South Dakota State at North Dakota State = 18,113. North Dakota State won 27-24.
Most of these "butts in seats" numbers are not very impressive for championship college football. Therefore, I am now taking over and under bets on the year when the NCAA and member schools start reporting their online radio/video streaming numbers:
The year during which online radio and video streaming statistics are added to game boxscore "attendance" numbers will be 2017.
Another advantage of bringing this information front and center is that it will force schools to really put out a top-notch streaming product to their audience. That stream I witnessed the other night from Akron was as bad as one could ever be.

I know that it was raining at the Villanova game. So that could explain their small crowd of 3,113.
But the weather was not a factor for the Illinois State home game. They have to be disappointed with that attendance of 5,575.

Colored turf is the latest craze in football. Next year we get to play on the "Teal Turf" of Coastal. Because Boise State has a patent on their blue turf and because teal is a shade of blue, the Chanticleers had to prove that their teal did not "clash" with the BSU blue. Go figure.
BTW, is the date for that Coastal game set in concrete yet? Might use up some Myrtle Beach timeshare points for it if so.

Yea, the schedule for next year has been posted over here:
http://www.leathernecknation.net/forum/ ... ?f=7&t=410
The game at CCU is 9/19 next year. I have tentative dates for games past next year as well, but I'll have to go dig them up...document is somewhere, just not sure where.
Teal turf? Is that new? I'm not seeing it posted on their athletics website for the stadium:

I mean, it's a nice stadium, but it looks like real grass to me, at least in all the photos I can find.

They wanted to have it ready for this year but not to be. Installation will probably start on Monday assuming they get beat tomorrow.

In an exciting game that went back and forth, #1 New Hampshire defeated #8 Chattanooga, 35-30.
Chattanooga had the lead at halftime, 21-15, but UNH came back with a TD in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th. UTC had a TD early in the 4th quarter, then made it interesting with a TD with 1:32 left in the game. The onside kick attempt failed, and UNH held on to win.
Attendance was listed at 6,380. The stadium only holds 6,500 and was built in '36 but the current "visitors" stands are being replace with a brand new "home" side which will expand capacity to 10k-12k:

The winner of today's Illinois State at Eastern Washington game will play at New Hampshire next weekend.
