Really sad given how much they have contributed to the community!leatherneckcountry wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:23 am Forgottonia brewing is closing at the end of the month I’m shocked they always seemed to be really busy when I would drive by
I feel the same way. I'll see if I can get more info (I know one of the owners). My only guess is that it was just sucking too much time (I think they all have other full-time jobs) and not really making much money so they decided that the time investment just wasn't worth it. That's just a guess though.leatherneckcountry wrote:Forgottonia brewing is closing at the end of the month I’m shocked they always seemed to be really busy when I would drive by
Yes, if you can find out anything, let us know. I wonder if staffing could also be a problem as well. They have been quite an asset to the town.ST_Lawson wrote: Fri Dec 06, 2024 9:20 pmI feel the same way. I'll see if I can get more info (I know one of the owners). Essentially, one (or maybe a couple) of the 5-6 owners are burnt out of the whole ownership thing (I think they're the ones doing most of the actual work outside of the few student employees they have) and are wanting to get out of it. The one owner that I know, he's full-time at Western and the brewery is his "side hustle", but it's just taking too much of his time. It sounds like they're in talks with the remaining owners and a few other people in the area to sell their portions and/or figure out a way to re-open the brewery, once they get all the details ironed out.rocki wrote: Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:01 am Yes, if you can find out anything, let us know. I agree. I hope they can get things worked out to their satisfaction. It is tough being a business owner (made even harder when people were paid to stay home). I think a lot of businesses are having staffing problems.ST_Lawson wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:21 pmEssentially, one (or maybe a couple) of the 5-6 owners are burnt out of the whole ownership thing (I think they're the ones doing most of the actual work outside of the few student employees they have) and are wanting to get out of it. Hopefully they can get things figured out and re-open.
