10 BBs given up today. By my count, 7 of the 13 runs were scored by hitters that got on via BB. We ranked 288 out of 295 in that particular stat going into this weekend. Throw less junk, more fastballs over the plate and take your chances.
I've noticed they seem to walk a lot guys and I wasn't aware of that stat, so that would jive I guess. They seem to only have a handful of pitchers that they can rely on, after that is is a crapshoot.

Watching this game on the ORU stream. One question maybe someone can answer. Seems like all of our players have some sort of book attached to their belt on the front of the uniform. I dont think I have ever seen that before. Maybe a softball pitcher or catcher might have something on the arm but never the whole team. What kind of secrets are we storing on that thing?
I'm not sure, I haven't seen that or seen any pictures of them. It does seem Sheriff is a forward thinker, by seeing his tweets seems he is big into the analytics of baseball, so I imagine something along those lines. Will be interesting if they give him a shot at the job. I know in the BOT meeting that was posted Bubb said would do a national search for a new baseball coach, even though this year hasn't been great, I wouldn't mind seeing them give him a shot and see what he can do. Like I said it seems he is big into analytics and that is the current wave in baseball.

Michigan State won Friday night's game 10-9.
Western led several times in this game: 3-0, 5-2, and 8-3.
But a 5-run inning for Michigan State in the bottom of the 7th flipped the game around.
Attendance at Michigan State = 1,196
The weekend series will conclude on Saturday with a double-header beginning at 10:30 AM.

I did not realize until today that we do not play a balanced conference schedule against each team both home and away. Seems a little hokey doing it that way when you allow only the top 4 teams into the conference tournament. How do they they determine what teams you do get to face in both a home and away series. This year we drew ORU and St. Thomas for home and away. I assume the Bison and Jacks are guaranteed home and away series every year, just like in Valley football but I might be wrong.
More than likely, this years tournament "final 4" will be ORU, SDSU, NDSU, and Omaha.

You can't avg a BB per inning pitched and expect any kind of success at any level.
We have given up 269 BBs this year to our opponents 148 according to our latest stats.
That is digging a pretty deep hole.
