What happened to the defense? I thought Billy was a defensive minded coach?

Tennessee-Martin won the game 98-91.

Western did have a 15-point lead (70-55) with 13:00 left in the game. Then they appeared to have run out of gas.

Kobe Webster led the Western scoring with 28 points. He scored his 1,000th point with his first basket. Ben Pyle had 18. Zion Young had 15. James Claar had 13.

Attendance at Western Hall = 610.

Next game will be at Western Hall on November 20 vs Northern Illinois. This game will be part of an evening double-header. The Women will be playing Bradley at 5:30 PM to start things off.

Really...come on Billy...close out a game with a 15pt lead at home. Defensive and offensive stands to run the clock should have won the game by 10. Make them earn it at least. Playing fast pace up by 15 in second half of 2nd half is coaching mismanagement. Team shot well and played well offensivle, just out coached once again. Defensive schemes are not this teams or Wrights strong suit. We dont have the athletes or size to play consistent man to man defense.

Man...I want to be optimistic...but what gives

Best coaching move of the game came by their HC when he went to full court press in 2nd half. Not a hard press but just enough to disrupt our rhythm on offense.

Last year's game with Tennessee-Martin was also a shoot-out. UT-Martin won 92-90.

If nothing else...it seemed to tire out our defense to get easy dunks and lay ups under the basket. Or maybe that was just the defensive strategy

this happened a lot last year also, had big leads and the opposing team would go on a run to close the gap or take the lead and WIU would eventually lose. After taking the 70-55 lead, UTM went on a 20-6 run.
