Is anyone making the trip to Frisco? I will be making my 3rd consecutive trip down there. I don't know if this is legal or not, but I would like to see a couple of our coaches always make the trip and take the team captains with them. Take some good pictures and come back with some inspirational words for rest of team on what it is like to play down there. I would say it ranks in my top 2 of must-do annual sports trips (the SEC baseball championship is definitely number 1). From what I can tell, the Bison will have their hands full dealing with the athletic playmakers of JSU. I do give the Bison the advantage in the trenches so if the game remains close throughout, that could be difference. Bison have been struggling with their FG game the last couple of outings. Maybe they should check in with NCAA and see if this former Gamecock has any eligibility left.
Those JSU Marching Southerners really bring it to the field as well.

Only bit of sadness surrounding this trip is my usual 5k on early Saturday morning has been cancelled because of all of the flooding in that area. There is another one fairly close which starts at 9am but with the game starting at 11am, it might be tough to do it. I am thinking if weather is good and temp in 50 - 60 range, I might try to head directly to stadium from finish line.

JSU has had to cut back on the student tickets that they're able to use because they're actually sending their entire ~500 member band to the game.
And for those of you that aren't big into this sort of thing, JSU's band is not only large and loud, but in terms of talent and how well they play together, I don't think I've heard a better college marching band....ever. And they've been that good for a long time.
This one gave me chills (it's actually a bunch of performances edited together):

I guess that they don't want to be known as the "Marching Gamecocks".

Disassociating themselves from a "gamecock" probably a good idea. Have you ever driven by Shanghai City or what's left of it about 3 miles southeast of Alexis? Back in the day, it used to be a hopping place, especially well-known in the area for it's Saturday night cock fights.

I know the area. It is in the Kelly Township of Warren County.

So how did Georgia on My Mind win out in where you went to school, Scott!

"Georgia" is loud and a lot of fun, but it's not always the best in terms of "sound quality". I marched in some pretty good incarnations of the Marching Leathernecks, but even in our best year, I don't think we were quite as good as JSU's band is year after year.

Much, much speculation as to whether NDSU will use Wentz tomorrow. Just interested in what others think. Assuming he is 100% ready, do you go with him or do you go with the guy who got you there? Or maybe adjust the system a little to use them both in some way that might surprise JSU?

There were reports that he was "ill" earlier this week and unavailable for press and stuff. Then again, they've been playing the "Wentz situation" pretty close to the vest pretty much all the way through the playoffs. I think you probably go with Wentz if he's anything close to 90%-100%. Wentz is a NFL-quality QB (projected to likely go somewhere around round 2-3 in the draft)...Stick is good, but he's young, doesn't have experience playing in the championship game, and doesn't throw as well as Wentz. He might run the ball a little bit better, but I think a mostly healthy Wentz gives you your best chance of victory (if you're NDSU).
