Thanks WIU1.
Good information. I would have liked to see something happen with the end court seating. However it looks like what is happening with the bulk of the seating is well conceived and will be more functional and attractive than what was previously there.
Perhaps our State politicians should take note. Maybe you can't always get all of what you want but, isn't getting some of what you want better than getting nothing?

I do have a question about the new seating according to the Facilities Management website seating is to be increased. How will this be possible if seats will not be placed in previous closed off areas that will now be opened up for better egress. Also, there is no plan to change/increase seating on the East and West sides.
Here is an excerpt from facilities management website:
Project Scope Complete removal and replacement of the lower bleachers and renovation of the north balcony bleachers in Western Hall.
External Vendors Carroll Seating and Fushion Tech
Total Project Cost Approximately $900,000
Completion Date August 5, 2016
Project Description
The Western Hall bleacher replacement and rehabilitation project will consist of the complete removal and replacement of the lower bleachers and renovation of the north balcony bleachers in Western Hall. The renovation is currently necessary due to the fact the existing bleachers do not meet current ADA code; they are at the end of their service life; they are difficult to operate; and service parts are no longer being manufactured. Furthermore, in conjunction with this work, entrances into the gym that were covered in 1985 will be reopened in order to meet recent National Fire Protection Association egress requirements for large events. This work was unanimously approved by Student Government Association in September of 2015. When completed, the project will update life safety requirements of Western Hall while simultaneously increase seating capacity for any event held therein.

Making the balconies more hospitable to the spectators will be a good thing. However, thinking well ahead, we need to get some T-shirts up there to make them happy. No cheerleaders I have seen have the arm to get the Ts up there. Therefore, this little baby just might be my next donation to the ol' alma mater.

??
Here's a thought: Perhaps the new seats are smaller which would allow more seats per row.

If that is the case, we are in "bigly" (or "Big League", ask Trump for sure) trouble as the average adult is anywhere from 20 to 40 lbs heavier now than they were back when Western Hall was built.

I think people are larger today then they were back in the 60's. I think the comment about more seats is a misnomer! ;)jc

A few years ago, a Coca-Cola "cannon" would shoot t-shirts into the crowd at the football games. Another possibility would be a big slingshot.

Rock might say "Never walk into battle with just one weapon". If I go ahead with the micro/mini T-shirt gun, does anyone have ideas for possible logos or custom shapes we might be able to use? Should we get a local Macomb business in on the action? I think the small one would still work at Hanson Field (150' range).

There were people up in the north balcony at many games this past season.
But the north balcony is really not very fan-friendly as the TV cameras are in front of the seats making for obstructed views.
The south balcony would be better. But that section is usually closed off as the baseball team uses the space behind the folded-up bleachers.
