Gov. J.B. Pritzker said that is "unlikely" his stay-at-home order can be lifted safely before April 30, and that organizers of large summer events "need to think seriously" about canceling them.
"From my perspective today, I do not see how we're going to have large gatherings of people again until we have a vaccine, which is months and months away," Pritzker said. "I would not risk having large groups of people getting together anywhere, and I think that's hard for everybody to hear, but it's just a fact."
The governor added an increase in testing residents, tracing social spread of COVID-19, and treating those who are ill are "not enough" for him to green-light large-scale festivals, fairs, and other events.

Good video. Is it called the Register's office or the Registrar's office?

A reduction-in-force at Knox College will affect approximately 55 staff members. Knox needs to address unforeseen increases to the budget deficit caused by the cancellation of on-campus classes in the spring term.
Additionally, Knox will need to take other budgetary measures, including the possibility of a reduction in 403(b) contributions and graduated pay reductions for faculty and staff.
In support of all of our Leathernecks during this time of crisis, the WIU School of Music presents this (socially-distanced) faculty performance of our alma mater.
Dr. Bruce Briney, trumpet
Dr. Jena Gardner, horn
Professor John Mindeman, trombone
Dr. James Land, tuba
Dr. Jason Hawkins, voice (proud WIU alum!)
