Always love to get local kids even though i know he's BloNo got recruit your own area.
I live in Morton (Part of the Peoria MSA) 10 minutes from downtown Peoria. Morton is a suburb of Peoria not Bloomington. They don't even cover Morton sports in the Bloomington Pantagraph newspaper.

Morton is closer to BloNo than macomb unless peoria got a D1 team that I didn't know about. It's about 30 minutes from Bloomington and about an 1hr 30 from Macomb.

So since Peoria Metro does not have a D-I team you assign a community that is part of that Peoria Metro to another Metro? I have commuted to work in Normal from Morton I am aware of the distance. I'm also aware that Morton is not "BloNo". I'm aware of the distance, between Morton and Macomb, I am aware that sugar is sweet and salt is not. My wife graduated from Springfield high, Springfield does not have D-I football, I will have to inform her that Springfield and Sacred Heard Griffin is considered Blo/No under your convoluted series of what passes for thought.
Many in Peoria support ISU just as many or more despise ISU in large part due to the Bradley/ISU rivalry. I find you trying to educate me on distance between villages as you having a special title in your village.

I'm sorry i consider 30 minutes local and you don't. Most people say local they mean anything within an HR

When it comes to recruiting student athletes at the DI level, I'd consider "local" to be anywhere close enough that they could reasonably drive to Macomb, watch a game/match, and drive home in one day without having to stay overnight in a hotel. Peoria, BloNo, Champaign, Springfield, St. Louis, Burlington, Quad Cities, Chicago suburbs, Des Moines, etc. In most of those areas, they wouldn't consider us their "local team", but from my perspective, when someone says "in our own backyard" or "recruiting locally"...that's what I assume.
Roughly this area:

I'll side with Lawson on this one. Was once told by a recruiting co-ordinator that he focused on HS players within 5 hours of that school. Anything further and he had a harder time landing them. Too long to drive home, parents couldn't make games, etc

I would extend local recruiting into to Chicago proper. Even though Chicago Public League schools have only one IHSA title under their belt (I think it was Chicago Phillips a few years back?), you know there has to be some talent hidden there somewhere. Union Station train ride to/from Macomb is much better than a 3to 4 hour car ride.
