Couple more roster updates for players in positions that I haven't done previews for yet (added players, I'll go ahead and talk about in the previews as well, so mostly this is for the players who have left). I think most of the added players are either walk-ons or late juco transfers mostly.
Added:
Freshman P/K Kyle Coale:

Freshman LB Bryant White:

Freshman DL Keith Knight:

Freshman LS Nick O'Boyle:

Left:
Senior DL Jean-Marc Charles: Charles played most of his freshman year (2012), missed most of (2013) due to injury (I think that was able to count as his redshirt year, played in 8 games during 2014 (also listed as a sophomore year), did not play in 2015 due to off-season injury, and then graduated this last spring with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (
http://www.goleathernecks.com/news/2016 ... pring.aspx). I don't know for sure, but it's just a guess that Charles decided that it was time to hang up the cleats and focus on his career/future.
(Was going to be) incoming Freshman DL Logan Miller (from Clearwater, FL) is no longer listed on the roster. I don't know if it's because it just wasn't the right fit or something, but he's now listed on the roster of Wayne State College (DII in Wayne, NE):

I apologize if you addressed it, I don't remember seeing it, but WR Rashad Medaris, who was on last years's roster has transferred to Cincinnati.

I did see that somewhere (not on the forum here, somewhere else), but I don't think I mentioned anything about it. He was from Indy, was looked at by Cincy (but not given an offer originally) and his brother played WR for Cincy. He originally committed to Eastern Kentucky, but then switched to Western a month later. He redshirted for us last year, so I don't know if he just thought he likely wouldn't get on the field until 2017 (after Lenoir and Borsellino graduate) or what. If he wasn't good enough to get into the mix right away here, I'm not sure he'll see much playing time at Cincinnati. Plus he'll have to sit out a year due to transfer rules.
We're so deep at WR though, I don't think it really matters.

Update on Jean-Marc Charles. Just saw this in one of the news releases from a few days ago:
Senior defensive lineman Jean-Marc Charles will forego his senior year due to an injury. He sat out the 2015 season due to injuries as well. Charles, who played as a true-freshman, will stay affiliated with the program this season. In 23 career games, he recorded 22 tackles, 2.5 for a loss, 1.5 sacks, recovered two fumbles and intercepted a pass. Charles recently finished his requirements for a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science.
So, sounds like whatever injury he had just won't go away or is impairing his ability to play football. It does look like he'll be around, probably as some type of grad assistant or something, for this season.
EDIT - I also have some information on a few other players:
Logan Miller and Avery Andrews failed to meet the DI academic requirements and are ineligible to play DI football this season.
Miller will be at Wayne State this season (DII...the standards the NCAA sets down for DII are a bit lower than DI...regardless of the academic standards of the school itself). If he gets decent grades this season, he could see about transferring to a DI school, but would have to sit out for a year since he'd be moving up.
Andrews will be attending a JUCO in Iowa this season and probably the easiest route for him would be to get decent grades and play well for two years there, then he could transfer to a DI for his last two years of eligibility without having to sit out a season (JUCO transfer rules).
Also, Creighton Lynch (AKA "Dirty Red") has had a death in the family and has decided not to play football.

How can the Hawkeye state have 3 JUCO football programs and the Prairie State only one (College of DuPage)? Go figure. Seems like that is encouragement to go out of state as if they needed additional incentives.

Players come and go no matter what level they think they can play at or are actually playing at! I would describe it as "personal recalibration!" There is something really special going on at "Camp Leatherneck" this year!! For some reason, I think the "stars" are truly aligned right now. Just a gut feeling!!

Agreed. Everything I'm seeing on twitter and hearing out of camp is that this year could really be special. I know I'm more excited about the new season this year than I have been in a long time.

More (minor) roster updates for those of you who care about this sort of thing...
Apparently the team has gone through and gotten updated weights to post to the roster. If you go here and click on the line that says "View changes: 2016-8-11 13:36" then it'll show you everything that's been updated:
https://www.changedetection.com/log/gol ... r_log.html
For example, you've got Lance Lenoir going from 200->210, Norvell going 220->225, Knuffman going 205->215, etc.
In most cases it's adding a few (5-10 lbs)...probably added muscle from workouts and strength training and stuff. In some cases it looks like players have slimmed down a bit...dropped some fat, trimmed up...getting leaner and faster..that kind of stuff (Mike Viti going 194->186 for example).
Might give you an idea of the direction that the coaching staff is wanting some of the players to go...bulkier or leaner...and what type of roles they might play.

I'd been checking regularly for the update. The only PlayStation game I still play and make time for is NCAA football during season.
Update the roster exactly every year thru teambuilder, import all the teams we play, create a conference and play on Saturday before the game.
Looks like the biggest change is Dillon King, 190 to 217. Dude needed it at 6-4. Thought Riggs would have gotten a little bigger, but guess he's only a true sophmore and has some more time to add mass.
