YES ===> It will.

Here's the press release:

The Leatherneck Club will hold a Summit League Basketball Tournament watch party on Saturday, March 4, at Sports Corner @124 in Macomb. Both WIU basketball teams play first round games that day in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The top-seeded WIU women face Denver at 12:00 p.m. with the watch party starting at 11:30 a.m. The Leatherneck men's team will battle South Dakota at 6:00 p.m., with the watch party beginning at 5:30 p.m.

WIU Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations Nancy Sprout, Leatherneck Club Advisory Board member John Biernbaum and others will host the event, which will feature appetizers and great giveaways courtesy of WIU Athletics. All Leatherneck fans are welcome, and current Leatherneck Club members will receive a special gift for attending.

"Postseason basketball is always special, and we're excited to host these events for our loyal fans," said Assistant Director of Athletics for Development Michael Jones. "Leatherneck Club members do so much to support WIU Athletics, so it's nice to host these events as a small token of our appreciation. Hopefully everyone will cheer loud and help our teams get two wins on Saturday."

Should the teams advance in the tournament, there will be more watch parties at Sports Corner @ 124.

15 3-pointers is also really impressive, especially with the defense we have. If the only scoring we'd done had been those 3-pointers, we still would have won the game, although only by 6 points.

Fifty some odd years ago, March Madness was a special time for a few small town kids about 45 miles north of Macomb. The elementary school principal and teachers would file everyone into that little gymnasium and line everyone up around a small black and white TV to watch the Galesburg Silver Streaks in their state tournament runs. Today, would a college president cancel afternoon classes to allow students and faculty to watch the semifinal? Probably not the politically correct thing to do anymore but who knows. I am sure a student or two will be skipping a class or two and a few workers will be less than productive during the game. ;)
