Time for the linebackers (going to do this a little differently this time...google spreadsheet)...

As near as I can tell, all the listings for years are accurate (for LB's at least).

Production Lost from Last Year
Brett Taylor - 162 tackles, 13 for loss w/ 1.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles
Adam Brott - 18 tackles, 1 for loss

Production Returning from Last Year
Quentin Moon - 70 tackles, 11 for loss w/ 2 sacks, 2 INTs, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery
Pete Swenson - 42 tackles, 11 for loss w/ 6.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble
Riggs Baxter - 33 tackles, 3 for loss, 1 INT, 1 forced fumble
Tre Hendon - 16 tackles, 2.5 for loss
Zach Glisan - 12 tackles, .5 for loss, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery
Michael Bishoff, 7 tackles, 1.5 for loss w/ 1.5 sacks, 1 fumble recovery
Tom Rehfeld - 3 tackles

My View
Ok...so....bad news, despite the fact that Brett Taylor is still wearing purple and gold, it is no longer for us. Good news...Brett and Adam Brott are the only two LBs from last year who will not be back this year. Quentin Moon was a team captain and honorable mention All-MVFC player last year, so I see him stepping up as the "leader" of the LBs now in his final season. I also think we'll see a much more prominent role for Senior Pete Swenson, who's 6.5 sacks for 38 negative yards was second only to Khalen Saunders last year. Fellow Senior Riggs Baxter and Sophomore Tre Hendon also got on the field a decent amount in 2017, so I think we'll see their stats step up a bit this year as well. FBS Transfer Derriyon Shaw was on the Boise State squad last year, although didn't get on the field for them. Shaw was a 3-star recruit and one of the top LBs out of the state of Nevada in HS. JUCU Transfer Jalen Powe had 44 tackles, 4 INTs, and a forced fumble in 10 games last season with the College of DuPage (http://www.njcaa.org/sports/fball/2017- ... enpowe43jy) and is listed as a Junior for us this season, so I'm sure we'll see him contribute too.

Wonder if Turk will play DE and Temple transfer Malik Burns will play OLB.

Greg Benton Jr might have a shot to get some reps on the inside. Committed originally to Army and played for Army Prep last year.

Anyone confirm if Moon is practicing? Believe he had surgery recently on the wrist/arm stemming from last years injury. He's not getting enough love on the preseason trail, but without Taylor around stealing all the tackles, he should have a huge year. He's a stud.

Good amount of experience and lots of potential from this group. Should see plenty of different looks and different situation personnel packages.
Think Purple...lets think Gold as in Championships!!!
