Ok, Leatherneck Nation. Without looking it up, who here can tell me what the advantage of adding chains to our barbells is?

The weight decreases as you get closer to the ground when the chain touches and increase as you peak??????

No idea and wondered that. Originally thinking it was just some cool new fad to look extra tough.

Now I'm going to Ask Jeeves!!!!!!

You nailed it. Low tech way to add variable resistance across a full range of motion. Of course, rubber bands will accomplish the same thing without so much noise.
