Has Dr Abraham's future status been established?
Not that I'm aware of at this point. I do know that there were strong rumors that he was going to go ahead and retire if he wasn't named president, but I also know that he's teaching a class in the spring semester. I don't know if that means he's going to be Provost like he was originally hired for, or if he's just finishing up on a commitment he made for the semester.

Dr. Martin Abraham will stay on as Provost. Billy Clow, who served as interim Provost the past two years, will return to his role as Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication.

My guess is that Dr. Huang asked Dr. Abraham to stick around, at least for a semester or so. We have a big reaccreditation process going on right now that happens every 10 years. It's supposed to be done this spring, but Dr. Abraham has been heavily involved in the process up to this point. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr. Huang asked him to stay at least through the Spring semester, so that he can keep handling that process while Dr. Huang gets up to speed on everything else.
