So I know that alot of you would just rather cut the ties to QC and be done with it, but I think Dr. Huang believes that he can work a plan to not only WIU's advantage but also the Quad Cities if given the chance. I like Darci Shinberger's reply which I think is similar to General Anthony McCauliffe's reply to the German General who had his division surrounded at the "Battle of the Bulge!" Nuts!!!!! Don't think Huang is going to be bullied in this regard. I like his moxi to tell you the truth! ;) jc

Moline mayor maintains WIU had years to address city’s concerns. Mayor Acri indicates some early interest expressed from outside programs.

You are not going to hurry Dr. Huang into a decision at this point in time. This is not a QC decision to make, but a WIU/State of Illinois decision to make. Huang comes to WIU with some savvy and purpose and with Martin, they should be able to come to a guiding principle on how to use the QC campus in successful manner. I think the mayor is getting what she really wants and thats movement. Huang is just going to have to clean up the mess JoeR and Dr. Thomas left behind. ;) jc

Isn't it funny how you don't hear word one from a politician until they start actively campaigning for re-election. Then they can't get enough air or print media time. Moline municipal election is April 6.

A University of Illinois campus on the Moline riverfront? Moline city officials have been pursing that possibility for months.

UIC has a nursing program in downtown Moline. Not sure how many students enrolled in it. So technically, I would give the Pres at least 1 Pinnochio on his statement that WIU is the only public institution of higher education in the area.
