January 6 at 6 PM against NAIA Lincoln Christian (Lincoln, IL)
Lincoln Christian is in the middle of a road trip, but it fit in well with a last-minute detour through Macomb. They played at Iowa Wesleyan (Mt. Pleasant, IA), then have a matchup at Knox College (Galesburg) on Saturday.
The Red Lions are currently 4-11 on the season.

We should be able to win this game fairly easily (although you never know with basketball...upsets are not that uncommon), so it'll be nice to be able to get back into the swing of things with a win and a bit of momentum to help get us through to the next set of games.

What about the Jan 8 game vs Oral Roberts ???   Has it been canceled ???

Western last played Lincoln Christian University on December 31, 2017.  Western won that game 91-57.

Knox College has announced that no spectators will be allowed for their Jan 8 game with Lincoln Christian.  Knox College is re-imposing spectator restrictions due to the increased risk of infection from the COVID-19 Omicron and Delta variants.  Galesburg is experiencing a high level of community spread.

You're right. For some reason I thought I had seen that Saturday's games were postponed/cancelled as well, but it's still showing on the Summit League site, our own athletics site, and ORU's athletics site. So we've got the games against ORU on Saturday (men hosting ORU, women at ORU) at this point.

That explains my confusion. Women's game postponed, men's game still on as of now.

The Summit League has announced the postponement of Thursday's (Jan. 6) women's basketball game between ORU and St. Thomas and Saturday's (Jan. 8) women's basketball game between ORU and Western Illinois due to COVID-19 protocols as cases arise in both the St. Thomas and Western Illinois programs.

St Thomas and Western played each other on January 1.  Now both programs are in Covid Protocols.

You should build an app for that.  A little parsing of the live stat feed page and voila.

What does scheduling conflict mean?  Officials could not make the last minute connections to get here?  Virus would not leave town when we asked it to?  If this gets too much worse, there won't be a rest of season and we will shift to comments regarding yet another extra season of player eligibility.
Embrace the pace of the race.
