Losing sucks but I thought that was the best we had played since the CMU game

Abmas had a hand in at least 54 Oral Bob points (32 points, 11 assists) without a single turnover.  That is having a night.  And he was not even shooting it that well from deep, only 3-10.  He is a multi-headed monster, has all the shots from deep, mid-range, floater, and all the way to the board.  I would make him beat me with a zone which hopefully keeps him deep and limits his ability to get others involved in the offense.

Can't lose home games and expect to be competitive within the conference. Now they are in the conference cellar and looking for a way up. Hopefully some things can turn around quickly. It sucks always reaching for the last conference tournament spot.....only to play a top seed first round.

Good point that's been brought up before...

If you can't read the twitter thread, here's the text:
Rant Thread Alert: So want to start off with a couple of positive things. After interviewing him it seems Commissioner Josh Fenton has his finger on the pulse of this. The staggered game starts for Summit League games on Saturdays is a good thing
Also good the Rivalry game with South Dakota at South Dakota State playing the evening ESPN + game also a good thing. now onto the frustrating part. Two Twitter Accounts with a national focus and more than 10K followers tweeted about being excited to catch the WIU/ORU game
WIU/ORU by most objective thought had potential to be an incredible game. One worth some showcase for the league. Two high powered offenses, a potential all-american. No one should be surprised that there was some buzz around the game. So with excitement turn on the stream
Quickly realize that the two options are to listen to the radio broadcast or watch a stream without the radio broadcast over the top. If a person isnt a WIU/ORU fan or a diehard Summit fan why do they keep that game on, when there are games everywhere on a Saturday.
If building the brand how can we leave the conferences easiest to showcase game as a soundless video stream. I appreciate that WIU uses students for almost all broadcasting and production. They are after all a University building student skills. So that is not the rant
The rant is that in an opportunity to showcase a great game. (Side note went to the buzzer during an offensive showcase) This is what those who watched received. Many of whom will just scroll past the opportunity in the future. As was said above this seems a future focus
So am confident in a bright future. Just disappointed. Also Western Illinois is just the example, not an exception right now.
We have got to figure out a way to get these big games on ESPN+ or at least better quality video streaming with audio...especially with a lot of people not on campus yet because the semester doesn't start for a week, and because a lot of people aren't going to go to an arena of people with the current COVID situation.

How hard would it be to add R.J. Larson's radio broadcast on WILP-FM to the video stream ????

Its a nobrainer solution IMO.  Yes, some student broadcasters-to-be will be peeved.  But its a tough business.  Might as well learn that now.
Add a color guy to work with RJ and move on to the next problem in life.  If yesterday's video stream was not free, someone would be getting a letter from me.  It hiccupped as much as it did not hiccup.

Another option is let the conference pick a game of the week and be responsible for putting a decent broadcast out to the public.  Does not the MVFC do that for football?

The students this year have done well when available. As far as the broadcasting we get what we deserve we have a team who's off to one of the best start's in our D1 history. Were playing against a team that made it to the sweet 16 with a possible all american and we draw 1000 fans that's a joke. With out there being several groups that each brought around 20 kids it would have been much smaller. The girls are also off to a good start and JD has constantly built a solid program and there lucky to get 500 fans. Yet that garbage that goes out on Hanson gets bigger crowds

Those staggered starts are good.  Even better benefit the SD Folks like it was yesterday.  You can drive from Brookings to/from Vermillion in about and hour and a half and see both games in person in the same day.  Those of us on the fringe not quite that lucky.
