Not sure what is going with the assistant coaches, but it could money, I'm sure WIU pays their assistant coaches less than any other MVC program. So they might be leaving to just to get a salary bump.

I know EWU has had some pretty spectacular passing/receiving teams in the past, but I think it’s been a couple of years. I know they had a pretty rough year last year, but I can check later too see how their performances line up with his time there.

I get the fact that they can't update the team roster this early, but why haven't they at least updated the coaching staff?

I thought I read somewhere (maybe even here) some rumblings about Reggie Gray for one of the open positions. Did anything come of that?

Not sure if he even applied.  He told me he was going to but never confirmed with me.  Greg Hardin is our new WR coach.

He was only at EWU for a year (last year). In 2021, EWU had 400.54 passing/receiving yards per game with 47 TDs. In 2022, EWU had 253.55 yards per game and 25 TDs. That being said, 2021 was the senior year of QB Eric Barriere, who was a 2x conference player of the year, the Payton Award winner in 2022, and who you may remember, put up 542 yards and 6 TDs against us in mostly the first half of our game against them in 2021.
EWU was 31st in the FCS in passing offense last year, while we were 86th.

I'd say that at this point, it seems...fine. I'm not ecstatic about it, but I don't think it's a downgrade from where we were.
