Volleyball won its first match tonight by beating Chicago State 3-1.

Attendance at Western Hall = 116.

Western returns to action this weekend as they host the Hampton Inn Leatherneck Invitational on Sept. 16-17. Western opens play against Drake on Friday at 7 p.m. Western opens the final day against Southeast Missouri at 11 a.m. and Weber State at 7 p.m.

Some SEC schools draw 9-10K for a game....... I'm sure these young ladies are committed. I don't want to say giving their best, because different people connect in different ways to bring out the best.

I have no Judgement on the coach, anybody that is interested can find the 2 year record. Fine, when I was a younger man I would go to games because the woman looked nice in their outfits. Now that I'm an older man that has faded and I look at Athletes and how the attack is coordinated. Helps to have the people you recruit for a system, however, I'm volleyball dunce, but still enjoy, I like the double fake spike set up to then....punk out the opponent when the opposing team just does an unanticipated well placed tap over the net...

Watching the Olympics Im sure helped reinvigorate my enthusiasm for the sport.

The Hampton Inn Invitational concludes today. Western opens up with an 11 a.m. match with Southeast Missouri State before closing competition against Weber State at 7 p.m.

Just noticed that frequent starting setter Abby Skryd has transferred to Delaware.
