The Summit League is switching to CBS Sports Network and MidCo as broadcast partners: https://thesummitleague.org/news/2023/8 ... midco.aspx

Six regular season basketball games and the championship seminfainals and finals will be aired on the CBS Sports Network. They have also partnered with Midco to create the "Summit League Network", which sounds like another paid streaming service, but just for Summit League sports. So, I imagine that they will no longer have any games on ESPN+.
I think the conference might end up getting more money from this deal, but I can't imagine having another streaming service to sign up for will be enticing for many people.

A bit more about the Summit League Network: http://reachingthesummitpodcast.com/202 ... irst-take/

It looks like there's a ton of OVC events on ESPN+ (which I already subscribed to) including soccer and volleyball (it's just showing the closest upcoming events currently).

because I watch away games. I'm asking if this is going into effect this season. Or if the games will still be on ESPN+

The Summit League's new broadcast partners (CBS Sports Network and Midco Sports) will not impact the football season because the Summit League does not have football.

Let's call this "Summit League-adjacent" news...
Nebraska had 92,003 fans show up at Memorial Stadium to watch their women's volleball team beat Summit League member Omaha in 3 sets.

Nebraska women's volleyball is the only women's program in the country (in any sport) that turns a profit. I know that's not the point of most college athletics, but it's just an interesting point: https://huskerextra.com/news/volleyball ... 91c27.html
Illinois women's basketball comes close because they bring in quite a lot in donations.

Most places are saying that it's the world record for the highest attendance at a women's sporting event, although it looks like the 1971 women's world cup final between Mexico and Denmark (held in Mexico City's Estadio Azteca) had a reported 110,000 fans: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_Women%27s_World_Cup

Either way, it's a HUGE number of people for a volleyball match and by far the record for a women's sporting event in the US. It was also a record for the football stadium, which has sold out a record 389 consecutive football games, but only holds ~85.4k in regular football seating configuration.

Now might be a good time to buy stock in companies selling portable hardwood floors suitable for outdoor use.
