Kind of a lackluster effort from my easy recliner view of things.  Never could string any shots or stops together to get in the game.  Got beat on damn near every stat in the stat book.  The margin of error is miniscule for these guys.  One guy absolutely cannot have an off night shooting cause no one else is capable of picking up the slack.  Frustrating.

EIU (1-7 conference record) took Morehead St. (8-1) down to the final minute at home last night before losing a hard fought game.  EIU guarrd Shelton went off for 38 points.  So, it remains true IMO that any team can beat any other team on any given night.  But for the lower teams, either someone needs to have a super night or EVERYONE needs to have a good night.

Hopefully they can soon figure out how to burn a trap defense. Otherwise, they just showed their Achilles heal game planning against them going forward. The free throws hurt bad enough, but watching all the ugly turnovers is enough to make it nauseating to watch.

Coach said it best. Broken team needs a win badly. Needs to do better job recruiting. Honestly, I don't see any of this team worthy of returning next year. This team started preseason with HIGH expectations,  but now fighting to just make the OVC Tournament.  I really hate to say this, but this team is playing as badly as the Billy Wright Era teams. Civil War offense, shoot and fall back. I like the Coaching staff, but this just can't happen same again next year too. Really bad when LONG TIME supporters left before end of game last night.

So we “drop down” in conferences and the flagship programs still can’t win a year later.

I agree... starting to lose faith in both programs tbh

Hopefully, the way of the transfer portal nowadays, this group is just needing to continue cohesiveness. I do like that the coach will actually change offensive, and especially defensive, looks when they are getting scorched. Nothing is ever generally going to work out perfectly, but making adjustments to work mismatches and working toward team strengths seems to be still in progress. Hoping to see a consistent starting lineup with at least 3-4 rotating in to keep fresh and solid on the defensive end as well. Every time I see the basic pick and roll for a easy dunk I nearly want to quit drinking and switch to medicated pain killers. It becomes painful to watch at times. Thus the joy of our agony! :(

Unless the coaching staff would like going back to JUCO, I can't see enough success to warrant the coaching deserve a step up in pay. Coaching and players are just slower than other teams no matter what the conference.
