Sad day on campus

We found out that two WIU employees passed away yesterday.

Billy Clow was the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication and a professor of theatre. He also served as Interim Provost for a few years. He was a huge supporter of the arts at WIU and in Macomb, with three kids (two in HS and one at WIU) all involved in music and theatre. He was also very heavily involved in the building of the Center for Performing Arts. He had been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis about three years ago, but had gone downhill over the past month. https://www.wiu.edu/cofac/theatre/facul ... f/clow.php

Amanda Schulz was the Assistant Director of the Graduate Office. I don't know her as well as I knew Billy, but I believe she had two kids...one a freshman in HS and one in middle school, and she was recently named the Civil Service Employee of the Month in January: https://www.wiu.edu/news/newsrelease.ph ... e_id=20435. Amanda had been fighting cancer for a while and had gone on hospice a few weeks ago.

I did not know Amanda. I had contact with Billy numerous times over the years. He was a good guy. Always positive. It is a sad day for WIU.
