WIU kicks off their season tonight against Radford. Radford is in the Big South conference. Radford is in Virginia and the game is available on ESPN+ with 6pm Central time tip. Just like WIU Radford has an almost all new roster with 13 newcomers. They also have a new coach this year.
Anybody wanna take a guess what our starting lineup will be, because I have no idea.

Seems like the emphasis was to bring in guys with some bulk. This team will win some games! It would be nice to just make some buckets and not rely on offensive boards as much.

Looks like, Dixon, Massey, Cook, Lorenzen, Okwuosah were the starters, although Dixon only played 9 minutes and Griffin ended up playing 34 minutes.
Anyone know if Stephens is still recovering from his injury or just not one of the top guys on the roster right now. I see he didn't play. They played 9 guys last night. Their were a couple other guys I thought would play that didn't. i was busy last night so I didn't get a chance to listen to the game, would be interesting to see what Coach B had to say.

Seemed like the announcers had some pretty good things to say about Western. Referencing that WIU was picked last in the OVC and that if that either WIU is very underrated or the OVC is going to be REALLY TOUGH this year (if WIU really is the worst out of all the teams). I'm obviously hoping that we were just very underrated.

We were more competitive in game than I thought we would be. Radford won 20 games last year. Guy from my state Lucas Lorenzen had really good game and 4 players in double figures. I think we will be alright this year. Go Western.

We had a whole bunch in common with the Highlanders. Both squads pretty much total rebuilds. For them, it included the Head Coach.
I was sort of distracted while watching it on the TV. My initial takes are we need a stronger point guard presence on offense. Maybe it will happen as the season progresses. We are a typical Coach B team getting after those offensive boards. It looked like we showed a zone early in the game. Not sure how long we stuck with it.

I thought we looked more like the team from 2 years ago. Obviously no one like Cisse but really good on the boards. Gotta improve on not fouling and making more shots but definitely liked what I saw from the 1st game
