Coming off our first OVC win of the season, then a bye to hopefully heal up a bit, the Leathernecks welcome the Lindenwood Lions to Hanson Field. Lindenwood is 4-5 this season and 3-2 in the OVC/BS. They opened the season with a 13-35 loss at St. Thomas, then 20-13 loss at FBS Appalachian State. They started their OVC games early, with a win at Charleston Southern (35-28). They then hosted Stony Brook for their first home game, where they won 30-27, followed up by their second FBS game, falling 38-0 at Miami (OH). Getting into the thick of the conference schedule, they won 30-14 against UT Martin, lost 52-28 against Tennessee Tech, and lost 48-20 against Gardner-Webb. They they went on the road and beat Tennessee State, 35-13.

Comparing common opponents:
We lost to Charleston Southern by 5, they beat CSU by 7
We lost to UT Martin by 1, they beat UTM by 16
We lost to Tennessee Tech by 46, they lost to TTU by 24
We beat Tennessee State by 1, they beat TSU by 22
So, it looks like they have the advantage over us on that front.

Massey has us as the #98th team in the FCS, while they are 63rd. That system has Lindenwood with a 55% chance of a win, which is actually a lower chance than they gave us to beat Tennessee State, so this is a game that we have a halfway decent chance of coming away with a win from.

Western is going to win 24-21.    Got to watch this game.  We never gave up and got a turnover on a muffed punt to give us a shot.  When we punted I thought we were going to lose.  Great win!

Agree great win, I admit I gave up on them, so happy for the team after so many close losses needed a close win. I wonder how many people still want Coach Fox fired.

Lindenwood had 399 Total Yards:  216 yards Passing.  183 yards Rushing.

Lindenwood had 3 Turnovers.  Western had 0.

Attendance at Hanson Field = 2,004.  The rain started at halftime and continued for the rest of the game.
 

I hope we can keep some of these young guys around. The freshman are starting to play well they’ve been better than the transfers

Does seem like the freshman have given the team a jolt and are playing better.
