Tough loss on Senior day.  Lindenwood defense was good only 49 points for us.  Crowd was good.  Got down by 17, valiant effort to come back and almost win.  Maybe it will motivate us in the postseason.  Go WIU!

Lindenwood won 50-49.

Western battled back from a 17-point deficit (42-25)  by out-scoring Lindenwood 22-7 in the 4th qr.

Mia Nacastro led the Western scoring with 27 points.

There was a special ceremony after the Men's game to honor the Women's Basketball team.  The OVC championship trophy was presented.  And the nets were cut.

Attendance at Western Hall = 1,657.

Next game will be at the OVC Tournament on Friday.  Game time is 1:00 PM.  Western is the #1 seed.

I was confused for a minute until I realized that Coach Eagan was Lindenwood women's basketball HC Amy Eagan, who has been hired as the new coach at NM: https://golobos.com/news/2026/3/31/amy- ... ball-coach

She's originally from not too far from Macomb, having gone to HS at South Shelby (MO) HS, which is a bit west of Hannibal and is in the same media market as Macomb, and college at Truman State.
