Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band

I'm not sure how widespread the news was outside of the marching band/drum corps community, but last Saturday at the U of Iowa football game, band member Derek Phillips collapsed and died. Presumably related to the heat, but it's too early to know for sure.
He had been in the marching band for a few years, and had marched this last summer with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, IA (an organization I spent five summers with when I was in college), so while I didn't know Derek personally, I do know at least a few people who knew him and more than a few who were Iowa & Colts alumni.
This Saturday, Iowa plays Iowa State, and the Hawkeye Marching Band will be honoring Derek in a number of ways: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19SgeJcuuW/
If you happen to be watching that game this weekend, keep an eye out for some of memorials, and Derek's family and friends, as well as the Hawkeye Marching Band members, in your thoughts.
