Oral Roberts set us down in Tulsa despite Ashley knocking in 30+ that afternoon. We had an off-shooting game from 3pt land (3-17) and from stripe (12-20). Were we pressured on the perimeter? Maybe - I think they do have a little quickness there. Like last game, look for Ashley to have lots of space to roam in the paint as the big girl (Vicky McIntyre) will stick very close to the bucket. That mid-range "DMZ" area is key in this game. Will Ashley knock down some shots there? Will the other defenders sag off and help against her. Will Ashley find the open shooter(s) on the permeter? Will our ladies nail the shots? We will find out at 7pm tonight. Should be a good one to watch. Massey has us +8.

Most schools are finding ways to cut or eliminate phys ed requirements. Oral Bob got this one right.

Just looking and Ashley is 125 points away from tying Zane Teilane for the all time scoring record. They have a minimum of 5 games left and hopefully many more, so very possible to break it this year. She trails her by 172 rebounds, which should likely be broken next year. Finally, she's a mere 348 blocks away!!!!!

I have a feeling fans in attendance will witness a double dose of double double tonight.

We are down 35-31 at intermission. Need to tighten things up on the defensive end. This game has an eerily similar feel to the one in Tulsa.

ORU guards beating us off the dribble. JD switched to zone. Down 54-51 with 7+ left.

ORU takes this one 68-61. Free throws came back to haunt us again tonight but IMO, the real difference was quickness of ORU. They just pestered us all night and got to the hoop a lot more than we did.

Ashley Luke had 22 points. Tori Niemann had 13 points. Michelle Maher had 10 points.

Ashley was only 6 for 15 on free throws. The team was 15 for 27 (55.6%) on free throws. Oral Roberts was 16 for 20 (80%) on their free throws.

Attendance was 596.

ORU seemed to be quicker and longer at the guard spots and obviously bigger inside where Ashley makes her living! Going to the free throw line seemed like the best plan of attack but that means you have to make the shots! WIU is capable of beating ORU but only if they play at their best offensively. jc
