We play Knox College November 7th. I believe that might be an exhibition game for us. Either that or it's the home opener of the season.

UIC at home on Tues, Nov 17.

At Creighton on Sat, Nov 28.
Good test for us. Do I forego my usual Orlando Classic Thanksgiving basketball trip this year and make this one instead? I am kind of addicted to that Orlando thing. Plus, if I do the Orlando trip, I will be taking the jaunt up to Jacksonville to see our ladies play. So Orlando it is once again. Sorry guys, that is the way it is.

Ahhh, a Valley foe on the road. Wonder if it is a 2 for 1? What are the odds they choose to buyout the return trip to Macomb if it is in the contract? Also, wondering when was the last time a Valley team stepped foot inside Western Hall. A quick check of the record book shows we have to go back to 2004-05 season when Evansville came to town on Dec 6. The Aces won 55-72. When was the last time we defeated a Valley team on our home court? Have to leave a little something to do for the weekend. Stay tuned.

Drake in 2001 was last WIU win over an MVC team in Macomb

Just read that we play Hannibal-LaGrange at home Nov. 24. So far the schedule looks like as follows

Knox College Nov. 7
UIC Nov 17
Hannibal LaGrange Nov 24
@Creighton Nov 28
@Iowa Dec. 7
@Loyola Dec. 28

This is roughly half of the non conference schedule. Can anybody confirm any other games or hear any rumors?

I guess you have to finalize the roster before you can finalize the schedule. Billy is holding an informational meeting. Does that mean he is looking for a few more good men. Not sure what to read into it but it is probably one of the following:

1) All 14 on the roster now are not 100% healthy.
2) A couple of the 14 are already on the redshirt list for this year.
3) Simply stealing a page from Scott Nagy who always carries at least 16.

Whatever, looking forward to some progress in the upcoming season.

Billy Wright, you are the man! This is a very competitive schedule with two B1Gs. We will be battle-tested come Summit time. I am already adjusting my Fargo football trip to include an unforeseen stop in Madison.

That is a good schedule. Also adding in back-to-back games in Chicago over holiday break:
  1. when a lot of students will be back home....many in the Chicago area
  2. reducing travel costs...just a couple of extra nights in a hotel
  3. helping recruiting in the Chicago area
  4. with one team from the competitive Missouri Valley
It seems a little "up and down" though...you have 2 Big 10s, 1 Big East, 1 MVC, but you also have Hannibal-LaGrange (NAIA), Trinity Christian College (NAIA), and Silver Lake College (USCAA...not familiar with that one). I suppose they wanted to have some easy wins in there after the fairly serious road tests.
