Leathernecks vs Other Mascots

Just noticed something...
this season, we do well against cats and dogs (EIU Panthers, SIU Salukis, USD Coyotes, UNI Panthers) but not against birds (CCU Chanticleers, ISU Redbirds, YSU Penguins).

Doesn't really mean anything for the rest of the season against Bison, Sycamores, and Jackrabbits...just thought it was kinda funny.
Maybe it means we'll continue to do well against 4-legged mascot teams ;)

That would be Stanford's not-really-a-mascot "Tree". Pairs well with their not-really-a-marching-band....scatter...running around...occasionally attempting to play music....thing:

Stanford, when they changed their nickname to be the Cardinal, opted for a Sequoia tree a their mascot. There is a tiny cardinal hidden in the branches, but that's about it. The tree does dance a lot, though, with those floppy big eyes bouncing around.

Interesting note, Stanford isn't actually the "Cardinals" as in the bird, they're the "Cardinal" meaning the specific shade of red. Like the Harvard Crimson, Dartmouth Green, and University of Chicago Maroons.

They're not too good as a kick coverage unit either.
