Northwestern wins 24-14. Northwestern finishes with a 10-2 record.
Another losing season for the Illini as they finish 5-7. UIUC could still be in the running for a bowl game, even with that record, if there are not enough 6-6 teams to fill up all of the bowl slots.
This game was played at Soldier Field in Chicago. Attendance was 33,514.

Something interesting about the 2nd round of the FCS playoffs (and due to the regionalization process of setting up games), 6 of the 8 matchups feature rematches of regular season games.
Chattanooga @ Jacksonville State
The Citadel @ Charleston Southern
Sam Houston State @ McNeese State
William & Mary @ Richmond
Montana @ North Dakota State
WIU @ ISU
Our game against ISU is the 98th meeting of the two teams, but William & Mary vs Richmond has us beat. They play for the Capital Cup (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_Cup)...the "South's Oldest Rivalry". This weekend will be the 125th meeting, with the last one having happened only two weeks ago (end of the regular season). They've played every year since 1944, but the rivalry started way back in 1898.
