So, there's going to be a game this coming football season between Tennessee and Virginia Tech at the 160k seat Bristol Motor Speedway. It will likely be the highest-attended football game in history, but they just released a rendering of what it'll look like with the scoreboard that they're going to be suspending above the field for the game...

I don't think you could pay me enough to walk on that field under that thing.

Endzone seats will be cheap but bring your binoculars.

I guess I get the gimmick behind the whole thing, but I don't think it would be a very fun event to attend. Those not high up enough to just see mini-people will be trying to watch through the catch fence....and those fences block more vision than you'd imagine.

And to think we have people complaining about our all weather track around the football field......

Really not all that different from where most, who actually manage to get tickets, end of sitting at a Men's Final 4. Fortunately for me, the women only did that once, now back to basketball arenas (which may combo as ice hockey rinks minus the glass. Compare Lucas Oil Field where the Colts play, and stick a basketball court in the middle. That was the Men's Final 4 last year. This year the Women will be in Indy, but at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, where the Pacers play.

That would not be a fun game to be at. I'd rather watch cars drive in circles.

It'd be an interesting experience, maybe fun to do once, but definitely not ideal for a football game. If you're sitting at the top row of one of the curves (end zones), you're about a 1/4 mile from the other end zone. Bring the binoculars.

Oh, and the dumbest part of it all...the next weekend, Western Carolina and Eastern Tennessee State (both FCS) will play each other on the same field: http://www.citizen-times.com/story/spor ... /79413762/
Want to see what 15,000 people look like in a 160,000 seat stadium...there's your chance.

If you are going to make the trip to Bristol, make sure you stop in to Borderline Billiards. VERY classy pool hall. I might put that FCS game on the old bucket list. The WCU band will probably be there.

Never been to Bristol, but the NASCAR tracks I have been to are difficult enough to watch the cars going around (Bristol being a short track might be a bit different) particularly on the backstretch. Trying to watch football players would be a nightmare, I'd think.
