One way is in the top right corner of the page the "Unread Posts" tab should show you only the posts you haven't read.

Alternately, in the listing of the topics, the ones with the Rocky Head logo are ones with unread posts, and the ones with the pawprint logo are ones you have read (or marked as "read").

Also, if you look next to the title of the topic, you should see a small peachish rectangle and an arrow in the corner.
Great, this explanation helps a lot, Scott. Thanks much :P

Not necessarily. I've been on vacation since the 26th and won't get back home until this Friday evening, so I haven't really done anything other than just checking the site once or twice a day and commenting once or twice. I got the new update and design working and usable before I left, but thought maybe it'd be good to let it sit for a bit an "marinate". Sometimes I have a tendency to get excited and try to bite off more than I can chew...thinking I can implement a bunch of features that are maybe poorly thought-out. I thought it'd be good to just take a step back for a bit and see how things go for now and then come back next week and work on a few things.

If you have any additions or changes you'd like to see, or any comments or anything, feel free to let me know either in this thread or through a PM if you'd prefer your comments to remain private. I'll be sure to take them into account when I'm making any future revisions to the site.

I have no suggestions really myself, I did like the site before the update, but I was use to that one and I am starting to get use to this one.

I do like the chat feature also that 712 mentioned

I'll see what I can do about the live chat feature. Now would be a good time for me to look into whether the one we've been using is the best option out there, or if there's something else we could use that might work better.

Follow-up to this. For anyone who visited the site today, you may have seen that I've been playing around with a new chat feature that looks like it'll work better (and look nicer) than the one we used this last year.

Currently, I have it (by default) set to be accessible via the Chat Center link in the header (or you can go to it directly here: http://www.leathernecknation.net/forum/app.php/chat).

You can actually change that on a per-user basis though, by going to your user control panel. When you're logged in, click the drop down by your username in the top right corner of the page and select "user control panel". From there, you should see a tab at the far right that says "Ajax Chat"...click on that (also, please disregard the UCP_CAT_MCHAT tab...that was for the old chat extension, but I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the tab bit from there...it'll just give you an error if you try to click on it).

From this tab, you can decide if you want the chat box on the front (index) page, if you want it at the top or bottom, and if you want it to show up on the forums or topics pages (as well as a few other settings). These settings are only for your own user account (everyone can have different settings if they want).

Let me know if you have any questions, but from my quick testing of it, it looks like it'll be a lot more usable than the last one.
