The NCAA released their attendance numbers for the 2015/2016 season.

Western had an average of 1,087 for home attendance, which was almost exactly the same as last year (1,089...a drop of 2 people per game, less than 0.2% decrease).

The Summit League as a whole:
Oral Roberts - 3317
SDSU - 2781
NDSU - 2778
Omaha - 2265
South Dakota - 1873
Denver - 1675
Fort Wayne - 1278
Western - 1087
IUPUI - 1055

Summit League Average - 2006 (23rd out of 32 DI conferences)
Summit League Tournament Average - 9165 (8th out of 32 DI conferences, 2nd out of the "Mid-Major" conferences...behind the Missouri Valley).

That attendance average for Historically strong Denver program seems very low.

Over 1,050 for IUPUI actually is pretty good for them, back when they played in the Jungle that would have been over 85% capacity.

Disappointing how last season played out for our 'Necks. The attendance numbers obviously reflect a fanbase that has become disinterested. Maybe the new Arena project and some W's will turn things around. I am actually cautiously optimistic about the new seating and egress. The folks at Facilities Management seem to be doing a good job with what resources they have.

I see a trend here. My advice to future recruits: Don't go to a school which plays hockey unless you play hockey.

Really thought SDSU would have higher attendance.

An article in today's Peoria Journal-Star mentions that NCAA basketball attendance is on a downhill slide.

College basketball crowds keep dwindling.
