Check out the hudl highlight at 0:27. The kid improvised to come up with a 75 yd punt to the opponent 5 yd line. A QB who can punt. Hmmm, that is a new wrinkle on dual threat. I can already see Coach N working on some new 3rd down and very long quick kick options in his playbook. Kid has pretty decent speed and vertical as well.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Yea....going for it on 4th down?....nope....surprise punt. Standard 4th down punt....nope, 10 yard pass to his HS buddy the WR for a 1st down.
A smart QB/Punter who's already been playing catch with his WR for years....could do a lot with that in terms of trick plays. Likely won't see either of them start in our offense, at least for the next two years (Norvell, Lenoir and Borsellino kinda have that locked up most likely), but there could definitely be some interesting Special Teams uses for them in the near future.

Wieskamp looks to have a good leg. Liked the running punt, but my favorite would have to be the backdoor, alley-oop dunk highlight of his they snuck in.

Pretty athletic kid.

I seem to remember Scifres doing something like that once...we were backed up to maybe our own 10-15 yard line...a couple of guys broke through our defenders so Mike had to pull down the ball. He ran to his right, almost over to the sideline while being persued, then, while still running, dropped the ball and launched it maybe 70+ yards downfield.

WIU will be losing a recruit, Nick Wilson from Des Moines, received an offer from Iowa today. So he is de-committing from WIU to commit to Iowa.

That sucks, but you can't blame the kid. A Big 10 offer and closer to home...yea...hard to compete with that.

In a year or two we can get him back after he doesn't play for a year or two.

Signing day is less then 24 hours away. Which positions need immediate help? How many kids do we need to fill out next years class?
