In case you hadn't noticed, I did a forum update today. It looks like things pretty much work fine, but there's a few issues in the way things are showing up and stuff. I am aware of those issues and will be working on fixing them.

Scott,

Can we get a Tab on the main page for Seal Hall's "Basketball Roulette" ???

Maybe it can go where you have the "Pigskin Parlay" tab.

Also I am now seeing two drop-down selection boxes when I go into a Forum.

Ok, I'll try to get that updated this afternoon.

Yea, those drop down things are one of the issues. Also in the compose window the icons for things like "bold", "italics", etc. are red, large, and odd-looking. I'm digging through the phpbb forums right now to see if I can find other people with the same/similar issues.

Ok, looks like part of the issues is that the theme we're using isn't 100% compatible with the new version of the backend software. Some people are having the same problem and have been putting out fixes, so I'll be slowly implementing those to see if I can't get them fixed.

If I hover older one to the front page threads, it tells me if I have unread posts. But before, with the left icon changing color by the thread it was much, much easier to keep track.

ST, here it is:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... jE/pubhtml

BTW, back when I started this thing, I would have new spreadsheets for each season. Now, the spreadsheets are the same from one season to the next, so the the links should always be good. ST, do you only get Google ad money when site visitors click on an ad or do you get money when they simply visit a page with an ad. If it is the latter, we could look into embedding the application spreadsheet on some page on this site.
If Jimmy V was a programmer like me, he would have said it like this: while (!(succeed = try()));

Great, I've changed the link at the top of the page.

The site generates ad money whether they click or not (although quite a bit more if they do click), so we could definitely look into doing that. Once I get done fixing the issues going on now, we can look into setting up your stuff embedded on a page.

Thanks.

Testing a new interface for posting messages. Let me know what you think, if it works ok for you or if there's any problems with it. I'll be tweaking it over the next few days probably.

Ok, so I did some updates to the forum today. Mostly fixing some of the bugs/glitches that showed up after I did the software update about a month ago. So things should work a bit better on that front.

Also, I did some visual updating of things, like the title bar up at the top (mostly), as well as updating some of the plugins and things (the chat plugin, and the message composing interface plugin mostly).

I'm still figuring out exactly how I want the message composition interface to look, but I do think I like this new interface. It lays down the same code, but it's a bit more "visual" (hopefully makes it easier to use for you guys), and it allows me to assign icons to the various bbcodes (things like embedding tweets, videos, soundcloud audio, etc.) It also has some neat features for embedding video. For example, the YouTube button allows you to easily throw in a youtube video by pasting in the link, selecting it and hitting the button. However, it also has a more "full-featured" video embedder with the camera icon next to it (Image). If you click on that, it should bring up a window that lets you pick which site you want to embed from (there's quite a few and I can probably add more if we wanted to), and control the size and stuff. Let me know if there's any other bbcodes that you think you might find useful and would frequently get used and I'll see if I can add them.

Let me know if you have any questions or comments about any of the new stuff. I hope you like it. :D
